Meet The Team

TUMO MOKONE is an experienced journalist, who have worked with various national newspapers and News24.com, the country's leading news website. Though he has a strong sports background, Tumo proved to be an all-rounder when he filled in as an acting entertainment news editor for Sunday Sun for two years. Other publications he has worked for are The Star, City Press and Sportsday.

Now a businessman, Tumo is the co-director of Lenaka Media, the publisher of Sports Focus newspaper. He is also the owner of Mohlomi Editors, an agency providing translation, editing and proof-reading services.

Apart from an avid collector of African music, Tumo is a keen traveller, an activity which allows him to pursue his other passion, travel writing.

THABO MOLOTO -  Chief Photographer  is the managing director of Boots Photography and also the Chief photographer. Thabo's love for photography manifests itself in his work and as a result he has become well known in the entertainment industry as a photographer of note. Having studied photography at the well-respected Market Theater Photo Workshop, Thabo became a creative and reliable photographer determined to take photography to new heights. Most of Thabo's pictures get used in South Africa's top newspapers and magazine like Sowetan, The Star, Daily Sun, Sunday Sun, Drum Magazine, Y-Mag and True Love.

MANDLA MOTAU

has written for and contibuted to Sowetan, City Press, Nova, Daily Sun, Sunday Sun, City Pulse, Muzik and Ilanga. A former Entertainment news correspondent for Ligwalagwala FM, he currently occupies this post on Oskido's Church (YFM). His views on entertainment and the showbiz industry have been heard on Shift (SABC1), BCR, Tru FM, Ligwalagwala FM, 702 and SAFM.

Currently in the Naledi Theatre Awards judging panel, Mandla has also judged high profile events like the 2008 Nedbank Arts & Culture Awards, Hype Hip Hop Awards, Putco Arts & Culture Awards, South African Music Awards and Duku Duku Awards. He has also presented at the Southern African Music Conference (SAMC) in 2008 (Joburg) and 2009 (Durban).

Under Mandla Entertainment, he has done publicity for the Joburg leg of the Gladys Knight SA Tour (with Penny Styne Promotions), Soweto Gospel Choir's Civic Theatre (now Joburg Theatre) run, Cell C Gospel Festival series, SAMC and the DJ Vetkuk vs Mahoota & DJ Pepsi Spring Affair. He has also written profiles for acts such as Brown Dash, Izinyoka, and many more.
